It's interesting that Apple trolls know NOTHING about Apple products. FACT: Only Apple forces EVERYONE to give them their phone number. Nobody else does that but Apple. Not Microsoft. Not Google. Just Apple. So I called up Apple and asked why it's impossible to use an iPad without having to give the Apple mothership a valid phone number for them to abuse. Apple said, effectively, most of its customers love having no privacy. Specifically they said that the "find my" garbage requires the phone number, so, they said it was to "protect me" even though I was rather clear that I will never need a "find my" mechanism in my life. If I lose the iPad, so what. I lose nothing but an iPad. Big deal. I don't even have biometrics or a passcode on the thing. They can have it. Anyway, the fact remains Apple is the only common consumer operating system vendor who requires your phone number just to set up your device for apps. Even though there is no privacy on any Apple device, there was a secret way to get the iPad set up with a new account not associated with another account.
