My short workday, and even though I had to run errands and such, I still
got a movie in. So I watched:

soaps: Y&R - Tue's and Wed's ep's. Stupid Kyle is still reeling from
Jack and Diane revealing their scheme to get Kyle away from Victor.
Victor just apparently hands Glaucade(sp?) over to Diane, but I agree
with Diane that this was too easy, and Victor's got something else up
his sleeve... Daniel is furious when he finds out that the charges
against him were dropped when Sharon confessed - Daniel goes to confront
Sharon and Nick has to physically remove him. Sharon intends to take her
lumps from the law. EVOL!!1! Ian Ward and "Aunt Jordan" continue to
scheme against Sharon, et al. Sally basically tells Chelsea to shove it
(righteous!). Billy tells Jack about Jill's betrayal.
DOOL - Thur's ep. Insane Kristen bursts into Sarah's hospital room
and demands that Sarah try to walk now that Sarah has been administered
Rolf's serum, before Xander drags Kristen back out again. This prompts
Sarah to try and walk, but she fails; however, later, Sarah feels
something when it touches her leg... Holly and Tate discuss their
situation, while Sophia commiserates with Tate's bestie. Ava lets Brady
have it for Tate's treatment of Sophia, but they (proverbially!) "kiss
and make up" which Kristen sees! Kristen they lays into Ava about it,
but Ava's having none of it!
GH - Thur's ep. Disappointingly no followup on Lulu, or the
investigation into Sam's death... Alexis confronts Drew and Jason about
the provision in Sam's will for who Sam wanted her kids to live with,
but Alexis is disgusted with what happens, so I think all 3 parties are
going to end up suing for custody. Michael talks with Sasha about the
end of his marriage to serial-cheater Willow (I'm guessing Sasha and
Michael will end up together?!...). Dante continues to mope in the wake
of Sam's death, and moves out of Sam's place.

Alien: Romulus (Hulu) - Entertaining "Alien" franchise flick that is
much more a throwback to the original "Alien" film than having much to
do with "Prometheus"/"Covenant". That said, this film contains lots of
throwbacks not only to "Alien", but somewhat to "Prometheus" as well.
While this does take a while to get going, it does do some good
"world building" along the way.
Eventually it gets scary. But it does take way too long to kill off
whom I most wanted to see dead!!
I was disappointed that, after flirting with "the android is the
hero this time!", they go back to "the android is EVOL! and working for
the 'company'!!" (though later they walk that back too!).
This definitely does feel like a "standalone" film, and I don't
expect any followup with Cailee Spaeny's character.
