I doubt this is different in the > US. Not a bit different. Looks like about a quarter of Americans have a vegetable garden. I grow garlic and a few pots of herbs on the patio. Neither of my next-door neighbors grow any food that I can see. The folks across the street have chickens, so I imagine they have a vegetable garden as well. I have two acres, and each of my neighbors has one acre. It's not like we're hurting for space to put in a garden. -- Cindy Hamilton
