Whereas my desktop doesn't travel, so I didn't need to buy a huge internal SSD for compact packaging - - just enough to exploit its ~7000 MB/s performance level in my primary workflows. The rest of my data can go on external SSDs at lower price/TB, which is a trade off of performance vs cost ... but they're still several times faster than a HDD on SATA-3, especially in latency. -hh
