I remember hearing about someone who decided to post a picture of an 
historical figure on a dating app just to see how women would react to 
this handsome "bad boy". People reacted as he expected and drooled 
(figuratively) over the "bad boy". I was amused - in a rueful way - when 
I saw that the picture was of Stalin as a young revolutionary (and 
organizer of bank robberies).

As far as we know so far, Luigi Mangione has only killed one person. 
Stalin is believed by many historians to be responsible for the deaths 
of 25 million of his own people (not counting WW II); some historians 
reckon him to be responsible for upwards of 60 million people.

But people continue to respond to looks on a visceral level regardless 
of who the person is or what he or she has done. What can you do?
