No snow here, but it's cold. Yesterday at dinner time I went out --
with no more gear than a flannel shirt -- to take out the trash,
get some bird seed out of the garage, and refill one of the bird
feeders.  On my way back into the house, I looked at the thermometer;
it read 25 F. No wonder I felt chilly.

A nearby weather station is reading 6 F right now. We're starting
a warm-up, though. No white Christmas for us. The newspaper tells
me that since 1940 we've had a white Christmas only about half of
the time.

Tomorrow I'll make the fruit salad for Christmas breakfast. Tuesday
afternoon it'll be the breakfast casserole.

We put up the tree on November 30; that's the only decorating we do.

Hard to believe here, too. I feel extra busy this year. Time to
slow down and watch some Christmas movies.
