Was it like Toaster? Poser was originally designed in 1995 for creating static 3D images of people as a digitial equivalent of the old posable wooden mannequins. Version 2 added animation options. More options were added as new versions were released. It's always been rather awful with bad looking, unrealistic results, but that's why it's relatively cheap to buy.
