Since when does a government or city council *ever* do anything that 
actually makes sense?! They'd rather just keep wasting the tax-payer's 
money on silliness and duplication.

Around here we've had roads that have been re-surfaced (unnecessarily 
so), only to be dug up again a few weeks later for some other needed 
repair / "improvement". The semi-official name for Auckland city is 
"the city of sails", one of the many unofficial names is "the city of 
cones" thanks to all the roadworks always going on.   :-\
