I have a distinct memory of seeing Dr. No and From Russia With Love as a double feature as a kid in '63. I'm not sure if I had seen Dr. No separately a year earlier or if that's the first time I'd seen it, probably the latter. When Dr. No was originally released the local theater could have thought it was just some weird Brit-produced film and didn't bother to show it. Then next year Goldfinger hit and 007 became as big of a pop culture phenom as Beatlemania (which is given a nod in Goldfinger).
