After spending nearly a month in a Canadian immigration detention centre to avoid a prison sentence for joining the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, Antony Vo is going home. January was an eventful month for Vo, who had gone from snowboarding in the snowy hills of Whistler, B.C., to living in a cell after being arrested on the four-year anniversary of the Washington, D.C. riot he was charged with participating in. He had mused to the Star about the community he had found in captivity, counting down the days to a pardon from Donald Trump. After President Trump's inauguration, Vo was included in the blanket pardon that saw scores of Jan. 6 participants freed from imprisonment. He faced hurdle after hurdle in his attempts to return to the U.S., but he has now safely crossed the border, his attorney told the Star. https://www.thestar.com/news/canada/jan-6-capitol-rioter-who-fled-to-b-c-sent-back-to-u-s-after/article_08b27156-dfde-11ef-b7d1-9b5d6102eb14.html
