Unlike him, I thought it was too long... it could have been cut down by 20% or so by a good editor and been a tighter and stronger book. But I stll enjoyed the story of a robot and his friend traversing an apocalyptic landscape after all the humans (well, most of them) were gone. The ending was mostly a surprise and tied everything up nicely. Occasionally I felt like I was in a Philip K. Dick world that had been watered down for greater realism. I liked the book but not as much as _Made Things_. I wouldn't give this a Hugo but I am sure there are others who would. --scott -- "C'est un Nagra. C'est suisse, et tres, tres precis."
