Hi badgolferman,

You bring up a good point, which is why mine still shows Denali (and I'm
not on a VPN for my iPad), which means I don't know how iOS updates work.

What's interesting is that the "Gulf of America" immediately showed up on
my iPad on iOS 18.0 so why shouldn't the new Mount McKinley also show up?

Dunno... but I'll prove it since it's not what you're seeing... gimme a
second to connect a USB... Sheesh. Apple makes something so simple as
transferring files from the iPad to Windows unnecessarily miserable (what's
with those insanely absurd image naming conventions?) but I just managed to
copy over the screenshot and uploaded it so that you can see it.

Since I prove what I say, here's the screenshot I took today for you.

I generally don't bother updating the iOS version but what I'll do is
update to the latest iOS to see if that changes anything. I probably should
check the version of the Apple Maps but I don't know how to do that.

Let me look it up how to find the version of an Apple Map app, but the mere
fact I have to search belies Apple's propaganda that iOS is "easy" to use.

Jesus Christ. It's impossible to find the Apple Maps' version according to
the research I just did. How crummy. Anyway, it's tied to the OS version.

PS: I think it's funny that the Apple trolls always claim I don't have
Apple devices just because I happen to know more than they do about them.

OK. I just looked and iPadOS 18.3.1 (2.28GB) is available for my iPad.
I hit the "update now" button, which is nice that Apple allows you to
update the iOS version without having to sign into an Apple Account on the
Internet (as Apple is the "Big Brother" they infamously railed against).

I'll let you know if iPadOS 18.3.1 changes Denali to Mt. McKinley.
