It's different with notebooks. "Building your own" is... complicated (well there's mntre.com). If you want very good notebook it's usually brand name and their business/ workstation line, like in case of Dell it could be Latitude/Precision, but buying Precision for gaming is costly of course. MSI makes good "gaming" notebooks.
