I liked it.  I remember back when it first came out my super-short 
review of it was "Bond's got 'tude!"  :)

I think the Connery ones were rough.  The Moore ones were fun.  Dalton 
and Brosnan wanted darker, grittier but didn't really get that.  Craig 
_did_ get dark and gritty.  'Casino Royale' was a reboot in more ways 
than one.  It wasn't just another change in actor but a change in how 
Eon approached Bond movies.  And having a story line that actually 
spanned multiple films is a big plus in my mind.
