Cuba is the Zimbabwe of the Caribbean. And as to solar panels, how many thousands are without power every year in the US? Just a little wind is all it takes to kill all your over-ground wiring. I am in the Netherlands now, and most power wiring is underground. Do have solar panels, a DC to AC pure sinewave converter and 250 Ah lipo battery backup anyways just in case. Largest outage was 2 hours a year or so ago, just kept watching TV, computers (5) just kept working, satellite TV the same. Communication.. am radio ham, no problem. So, for survival...
