I think the thinking is backwards
Control freak Moderators killed the usenet
I can manage my kill files well enough thank you
Just as the schoolmarmish desire to "curate" the social networks killed them
I had been off facebook 2021-2025 and I find one third of my old
"friends" are still there. I really dread using facebook.

And while you are at it, since Goon Ghule betrayed its Deja News franchise,
it should give it up to archive.org
