Are you familiar with her? Not in the biblical sense, but the entertainment sense ;-) She's a singer/songwriter dating back to the folkie era. I have no idea how well known she is in the US although she shouldn't be completely unknown to you given that some of her songs have been successful, although most of them became hits for other people doing them as covers.
