 From 1945 to 1948, refugees from Europe and American Zionists flooded 
to Palestine. The UN sanctioned a partition, which was rejected and war 
began. Apparently the Palestinians didn't think having half their land 
stolen from them was such a good deal. Since 1948 until 2023, the most 
conservative estimates are 30,000 Palestinians killed in the occupied 
territories. Many of their homes were confiscated and the people 
expelled. Gaza itself was practically cut off from the rest of the world 
and living under a harsh occupation. How do you figure they started the 
war? Granted their attack was barbaric, but no different or worse than 
what other nations have faced in their history. Retaliation for the OCT 
7th is understandable but there is no justification for the heavy 
response of the IDF.
