Those problems > relate to it not being a finished product. I've tried the experimental version of Wayland in Linux Mint. It had some issues — some of it was compatibility issues with older applications, but it also had issues with streaming videos. Noticeable blotches in the dark portions of the videos (are these "artifacts"?). I think, however, Wayland is working okay in Fedora. (I'll have to double check now.) But, mainly, I see no real reason to change. X11 works well for me.
