The top gets slightly less toasted, especially at the middle where slices cut from a round loaf are tall. However, because we're all about compromise here at Team Hamilton, we keep the toaster at my husband's preferred weak-ass setting. I toast my slice twice, flipping it upside-down and backward between the first and second rounds. -- Cindy Hamilton
