The Binghamton public would probably have been far happier if that 
money had simply been donated to somewhere useful like the local 
hospital, rather than wasted on a silly statue* of someone most of them 
have never heard of.  :-\


* It will probably be torn down in 20 years due to some idiotic
  "Politically Correct" nonsense, if not stolen and sold for
  scrap metal before that.
