My late Uncle married a Catholic woman.  (He did not convert but agreed 
to allow the children to be raised Catholic; as far as I know only my 
Aunt and their daughter took the whole Catholic thing seriously.)  Every 
year my Uncle gave up beer for Lent.  He had never been a beer drinker. ;)
