My grandmother died in the 2000's. She had all the stuff, except maybe a dishwasher (family of four). Automatic washer, dryer, plumbing, forced-air heating, maybe even central air-conditioning by the end. She even developed a taste for Mexican salsa in her old age. My mother and I lived with my grandparents until 1966 (when I was 9 years old). -- Cindy Hamilton
