Hemphill's own classic album from "the 60s" (actually 1972) is _Dogon A.D._. I hadn't realized he continued composing later in life, after not being able to play saxophone.... I'm actually unsure now whether those "stringtet" pieces are transcriptions of saxophone quartet pieces or originally string quartets....
