As is his right, but I don't agree. That said, the Presidential elections of 2016 and again in 2024 featured higher expenditure by the 2d place candidate which does cast a shadow over widespread irrational fear of 'money in politics'. We're a nation saturated in media of all sorts and promoting a message, any message, is inherently expensive to garner any attention at all. Plus repetition of the message.
