It will depend on which version of iOS you're using, but for newer ones try going to Settings -> General -> iPhone Storage -> Messages where you should be able to get a list of the attachments, and delete ones you no longer want. See the "Bulk Delete Photos, Videos, and Attachments" section about halfway down the page at <https://www.yahoo.com/tech/messages-using-too-much-space-131512026.html> You can also set messages to auto-delete after 30 days or a year in Settings -> Apps -> Messages
