As I pointed out at the time, it had to do with his despicable parents. I truly have sympathy for him for the way he was raised, but there's no way to argue that he wasn't an adult responsible for the horrific crime he committed. I can still find the shell casings in the sidewalk pavers at the entrance to the restaurant across the street from where he shot from.
