I've been watching it. I can confirm that it is six episodes. All six episodes adapt the third novel in the trilogy by Hilary Mantel which wasn't written till 2020. Alas she died of a stroke in 2022. There must have been complaints that the plot was hard to follow in the first series 10 years ago, six episodes adapting the first two novels. This time minor characters are explicitly discussing plot developments with each other and with Cromwell. I think it's unnecessary.
