Our garage doors roll up and over (i.e., move from the vertical plane to the horizontal). So, with the door open, about half of the ceiling is blocked (lights typically affixed to ceilings). As we tend to BACK into the garage, this means the engine compartment of a vehicle is shaded by it's *hood* as well as being in a location that doesn't have overhead light. Annoying to have to rely on "drop lights" in that situation. <https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/e/ea/Lampada_portatile.jpg/250px-Lampada_portatile.jpg> (Similarly annoying to try to position overhead cameras where the raised garage door obscures their view!)
