Who knew you can't get proper legal advice from idiot screenwriters? It's always hilarious when someone who hasn't asked for a lawyer has one show up and start ordering everyone around. If the suspect has been Mirandized and waives, that lawyer can sit in the lobby all day. He/She has no right to even be present in the room, let alone tell the cops what they can and can't do. And most cop shops have significant security between the public and the detectives' work space, so no lawyer could physically walk into an interrogation room unless they'd been specifically buzzed through and escorted back, something that won't happen if the suspect hasn't asked for an attorney.
