My purchase on this trip was $3.75 but with tax it came to $4.01. I didn't have a penny and did not want four of them so I gave him a nickle and left. Some places do have pennies sitting at the register for times like that. I used to go to a farm stand that was great. $5.20 was just $5. I reciprocated at times, $4.80 was also $5.
