HURD n'était qu'une des briques (le noyau) du projet d'OS GNU, il 
n'était pas en lui-même l'ensemble du projet.

GNU avait besoin d'un noyau opérationnel, Torvalds avait besoin de 
bibliothèques système pour son noyau, et voilà GNU/Linux.
