En fait c'était l'option selectwindow que j'avais essayé, je ne sais pas
pourquoi j'ai écrit getwindowfocus.

Mais cela ne donne pas le PID mais l'ID de la fenêtre pour X.
D'ailleurs, le PID pourrait être sur une autre machine si le client X
est distant (cas de figure assez rare aujourd'hui, toutefois).

Mais cela ne change rien au fait que xprop remplit mieux cette tâche,
semble-t-il.
