J'hésitais entre les deux, parce qu'il me semblait que 'précédent' 
pourrait s'accorder avec ou 'enfant' ou 'enfante' (Béatrice). Je ne vois 
toujours pas comment choisir entre ces deux :

     Andrew fut le premier enfant..., {le précédent enfant
     [de tous, garçons et filles confondus]} étant Béatrice....

     Andrew fut le premier enfant..., {la précédente enfant
     étant Béatrice}....
