Exact, Carabas (et son marquis) était inventé par Perrault, un francophone.

Prononcez-le alors à la française : ka-ra-ba.

Si j'ai bon souvenir, je disais "KERE-ih-bass" quand je le lisais en 
anglais à un jeune âge, mais, phonétiquement, il n'y a pas de raison 
pour prononcer le /s/.
