En ce qui me concerne, (Kubuntu), je m'affranchis des dépôts. Je 
télécharge directement une archive comme thunderbird-115.4.1.tar.bz2
sur le site officiel :

https://www.thunderbird.net/fr/

Je dépaquette le tout, j'obtiens un dossier thunderbird que je place où 
je veux. Ça fonctionne très bien (itou LibreOffice et Firefox).
