Je vois deux idées:

   - (C) copyright -- ça j'ai déjà vu

   - l'indication de l'ère courante/chrétienne comme nos anglophones
     CE (ère commune) ou AD (année du seigneur) par rapport
     à BCE (avant l'ère commune) ou BC (avant le Christ)

Mais c'est peut-être autre chose.
