When somebody's contribution is cut in its entirety I would cut the relevant attribution too and substitute [...] in both places as an indicator. If it was only a partial cut I would leave the attribution and put [...] where words were cut from the text. Sometimes I'm lazy and cut all attribs. except the most immediate one. That happens if I select a portion of text before hitting 'followup'. In that case I'd put [...] between that single attrib. and the selected section of quoted text.
