So I'll let others respond to the AdAway portion of the issue, but may I ask if you're using an ad-blocking DNS &/or system-wide ad blockers? DNS Based Ad Blocking System Wide Ad Blocking The main reason I ask is I haven't seen an ad on my Android phone in, oh, I don't know how long - but it could be years and I use it daily on the net.
