It's turkey that is ground, seasoned, packed with preservatives pressed to form into slices. Sometimes smoked. Anecdotal evidence by looking at the grocery store, some people must like it. I suppose it is because some think it is more healthful. I have tried it a couple of times over the years and sorry, it is not bacon. The texture is weird, too. Jill
