My 525i had the Mann/Hengst/Mahle oil filter on top also, where in the beginning we suctioned the oil out the top but it's better to drain it. I did an entire tutorial buying all the oil filters possible and showed which were good and which were crap for the bimmers that I discussed. But when I got rid of the bimmer, I stopped posting tutorial after tutorial after tutorial for how to fix it - including the alternator, serpentine belt, tensioners and cooling system R&R tutorials (best on the net). Now I only have the beemer... K1200 (two wheels, not four!) It's no longer shocking though that you Apple trolls know nothing about bimmers or beemers - since Apple trolls don't know anything about anything.
