Same kind of slow-transformation thing may happen here - >what do you think? Absolutely! Much like when Persia was renamed to Iran or Turkey was renamed to Turkiye. Granted those were at the request of the countries involved, but the principle is the same. When official government documents get changed, eventually the new name takes hold. The official FAA database and other government documents have been changed and at some point people will start using the new name. I am a Washington Redskins fan. I was born in Washington so my fandom is in my blood. I absolutely hate the new name of Commanders and refuse to call them that name, instead referring to them as the ex-Redskins. However I know that's their new name and will eventually have to adapt at some point, especially since the new owner has doused water on any hope we had of another name change.
