My game isn't complete until every achievement is unlocked 8 Gamer Points: I grab what achievements I can. The more esoteric ones, though, I'll happily let slip by 6 Gamer Points: I play the game. Occasionally, I'll go briefly out of the way to grab an achievement if it isn't too difficult 5 Gamer Points: I just play the game. I don't mind if I get some achievements but I'm not putting _any_ effort into getting them 3 Gamer Points: I play games with achievements, but find the whole thing annoying and dislike those little popups telling me when I get one 1 Gamer Points: I don't really care, but since I only play on platforms that don't have achievements, it's all moot anyway 0 Gamer Points: I actively avoid games that have achievements [Achievement Unlocked: You read through all the categories!] -------- Myself, I fall into the '6 Points' category. I don't really care all that much one way or the other, but occasionally if I see one on my way -- "Oh look, if I shoot 20 people in the head, I get an achievement!-- I'll put a little bit of effort into grabbing it. But I don't think I've _any_ game where I've ever managed to grab all the achievements, and there are plenty where I've only the ones the bare minimum. Which isn't to disparage those who care about the things; some people like the meta-gaming aspect as much or more than the games themselves (I hear there are even freaks who get off on acquiring games just to see The total Number of games in their library grow. Stay away from those weirdos). But I've never been into that aspect of games. Mostly, I view achievements as a not-too-annoying distraction.
