Cohen could have listed the line items as 'NDA' payments,
but Trump wanted to hide the truth to influence the election,
so they were listed as 'legal' fees to lawyer Michael Cohen.

Thus election interference, thus the crime is hiding the other crime.

Cohen probably warned him, but Trump thinks he knows everything better.
