Since a married couple would never discuss politics except under highly limited circumstances, it's not a sign that the spouses are incompatible. Now, if he's frugal and she spends double their income, that's an incompatibility indicating they shouldn't marry. No, she had no intention of marrying him. She created phony drama, then dumped him. I'm not quite going to agree with BTR1701 here: If they had gone through with the marriage, then the two of them deserved each other.
