That goes back to the whole "plain text* works on everything" thing, you can grep it for a specific phrase, concatinate pieces together, use /any/ text editor (notepad, anyone?), etc. *unicode does mess some stuff up but generally compatibility is pretty good, and i think theres a special code for embedding a unicode char in md -- user is generated from /dev/urandom
