On sale at $8. I don't even want to look at this, I'm not fond of Among Us or games like that. I played the real life version when I was a kid and didn't like it then (one person is the killer, somehow you're supposed to figure out who it is before they kill you. I found it boring and pretended to be the killer, that was insanely embarrassing. Hey, I was like 7, it was a learning moment.) > * Capcom Fighting Collection 2 (May 16) > https://store.steampowered.com/app/2400430/Capcom_Fighting_Collection_2/ > Bundling up and reselling you old games that you probably > already own is a lot easier (and profitable) than creating > new games, and nobody knows this better than Capcom. 82%. $40. The only thing I'd want would be street fighter 2, but I have it already. > * Deck of Haunts (May 7) > https://store.steampowered.com/app/3179730/Deck_of_Haunts/ > Looks sort of like "Dungeon Master" except this time > you're building up a haunted house. Looked intriguing > until I saw those terrifying words: deckbuilding". 78%. On sale at $16. Looks possibly fun. I looked at a couple of the bad reviews - one 'too easy/not enough cards' the other 'buggy'. The Dungeon Master basis does make me want to try it. I'm not sure I can get past the deckbuiling either, but you just have to think of them as spells or actions, that are randomized like the old 'Chaos' game, which was quite fun. If it had a demo, I'd at least give it a try. > > * Deliver At All Costs (May 22) > https://store.steampowered.com/app/1880610/Deliver_At_All_Costs/ > Amazon delivery except in a GTA world. Watching the trailer, it's set direction isometric, camera doesn't follow your car like GTA III+. That looks really annoying, much as GTA I & II. > > * Disney Illusion Island (May 30) > https://store.steampowered.com/app/2054660/Disney_Illusion_Island_Starring_Mickey__Friends/ > A Mickey-Mouse platformer. Can't say I like its art-style. 87% 16 reviews. $30. Surprising that there's only 16 reviews for a Disney game. Probably something that'd be more popular on consoles? > * Doom: The Dark Ages (May 15) > https://store.steampowered.com/app/3017860/DOOM_The_Dark_Ages/ > The next game in the Doom saga. If you're familiar with > the last two Doom games, you should know what to expect... > except now with what every Doom games needs, even more lore. 86%. $70. Well you know what it is, it's really that price that's stopping me as well as not getting far in the last doom game, and being meh on the one before it. I've never really been that into FPSs. It was RPGs mostly until I met Dark Souls 3. > * Duck Detective: The Secret Salami (May 22) > https://store.steampowered.com/app/2637990/Duck_Detective_The_Secret_Salami/ > You're a detective who is also a duck. Oddball adventure > game. Looks cute. 94% >4k reviews! Sale $7. Looks fun and silly, but it's a short adventure game, which isn't my groove. > * Elden Ring: Nightreign (May 30) > https://store.steampowered.com/app/2622380/ELDEN_RING_NIGHTREIGN/ > More Elden Ring. If you loved the first, you'll dig > this stand-alone adventure. If not, keep looking. 82%. $40. The rating is a bit surprising. And no, no you won't necessarily like it if you liked Elden Ring. It's like some anti-boss rush roguelike timed survival game. It's got something to it and I keep wanting to play it for some reason, but it's the opposite direction of what I'd like to see the the games go, but then so was Elden Ring. Peaked at DS3. I strongly recommend against it for anyone who doesn't like online frenetic time trials. > * Frog Legs (PC) - May 19 > https://store.steampowered.com/app/1734110/Frog_Legs/ > Weird indie game that mixes classic arcade games with > a horror setting. Not something I'm interested in, but if you find it mildly inventive the price is right. > * Labyrinth of the Demon King > https://store.steampowered.com/app/1804010/Labyrinth_Of_The_Demon_King/ > A game so ugly it actually starts too look somewhat good, > Labyrinth is a dungeon crawler set in feudal Japan. Doesn't seem to be much souls-like from the reviews. A mix of Kings Field, Silent Hill and Resident Evil. I did like Silent Hill. I put it on my wish list, still a bit steep that looks like it's from 30 years ago, fairly short and repetitive. > > * Lynked: Banner of the Spark (May 22) > https://store.steampowered.com/app/3159570/Lynked_Banner_of_the_Spark/ > Action-RPG. Bunch of game modes tied together (kind of like Cult of the Lamb which I love,) I probably can't get past the TV cartoon look. > > * Metal Eden (May 6) > https://store.steampowered.com/app/990380/METAL_EDEN/ > A rather unexciting-looking sci-fi FPS whose > primary differentiation seems to be that it's so > much faster-paced than any others. Well, I probably need to get around to trying MT at some point, but I wasn't impressed with Slay the Spire. also graphics look a bit WOW like which puts me off. Also MT is on the App store, so I can get the original with my wife's apple+ sub free if I ever get the craving to try it on her old tablet. > * Out of Sight (May 22) > https://store.steampowered.com/app/2526310/Out_of_Sight/ > A third-person action/adventure where you guide a blind > girl around a haunted mansion. The gimmick is that you > can only 'see' through the eyes of your teddy-bear (which > you can carry and put down wherever). Meh. 88% Sale $15. Doesn't look like something I'd want to play. May be something my daughter would like though. > * Revenge of the Savage Planet (May 8) > https://store.steampowered.com/app/2787320/Revenge_of_the_Savage_Planet/ > Third person action/explorer where you wander across alien > worlds. Probably not too bad, but nothing about it screams > 'play me!' 76% $15. While I enjoyed the humor of the original the game-play was tiring. Fine for a PS2 game, but no longer. Looks to be more of both. Oh ho, there's 2 player mode! Might be something to dig out and try with my daughter. > * Roadcraft (May 20) > https://store.steampowered.com/app/2104890/RoadCraft/ > Play with giant construction vehicles! Sort of a "Mudrunner" > with bulldozers. 72% $40. Bad reviews complain it's a sandbox, no goals, maps change losing all your work, and very simple. Sounds like a fun sim if you still like to go outside with your Tonka Trucks and mess around, or miss ========== REMAINDER OF ARTICLE TRUNCATED ==========
