Early in 1951 he was running the Korean War but in April 19951 he was relieved of command by President Truman. Looked it up on Wikipedia. It may have been over MacArthur's plan to A-bomb a supply point for the Chinese Communists which army ws assisting the North Koreans as the UN was assisting the South Koreans. Truman did not want to start a war with China and the USSR which was closely allied with the Chinese at that time. bliss
