Some people are doing that on X, circulating new maps of North America with Canada stretching down the Atlantic coast to Maryland, and down the Pacific Coast to Mexico. What bothered me in this case was to hear a member of the NY state government saying it. I found that disturbing. Fortunately, I feel better about it. I've recently joined Bluesky (the anti-X that's gained over 25 million new users since the election). So I the story up there to see the lay of the land. I got only one reply. from an angry person who told me, in effect, that as much as she despised Trump, he wasn't worth breaking the country up over. (Sorry for ending a sentence with two prepositions :)
