It also has basically nothing to do with the original book nor any other Dracula version ... looks like a movie to be best avoided, even for Dracula fans. Dracula Trailer Introduces Caleb Landry Jones as Luc Besson's Prince of Darkness --------------------------------------------- Luc Besson's Dracula trailer has been released, ahead of its upcoming theatrical release in France this coming July 30, 2025. The movie is based on Bram Stoker's 1897 gothic novel of the same name. "It tells the story of 15th century Prince Vladimir who cursed God following the death of his beloved wife and is turned into a vampire. Later, in 19th century London, he discovers his wife's doppelganger and dooms himself by pursuing her," reads the initial synopsis. Check out the Dracula trailer below. Trailer: (2mins 11secs) What happens in the Dracula trailer? The video introduces Get Out's Caleb Landry Jones as he plays the newest iteration of the Prince of Darkness, who has been looking for the love of his life for several centuries. The cast will also include Christoph Waltz as a priest, Matilda De Angelis as Maria, Zoe Bleu as Elisabeta/Mina, Ewens Abid as Jonathan Harker, Romain Levi as Captain Wernus, and more. Dracula is written and directed by French filmmaker Luc Besson, who's best known for his work on movies like Léon: The Professional and Lucy. This marks Besson's latest collaboration with Jones, after previous directing the acclaimed actor in 2023's Dogman. The movie is produced by Virginie Besson-Silla, with Philippe Corrot serving as an executive producer. "It's a totally romantic approach," Besson said in a previous interview with Deadline. "There's a romantic side in Bram Stoker's book that hasn't been explored that much. It's a love story about a man who waits for 400 years for the reincarnation of his wife. That's the true heart of the story, waiting an eternity for the return of love, leaving it open on whether the woman that Dracula meets is a reincarnation or not."
